Good spot to stop by during long bike rides.
I visited Tucker's a couple of times in the past, but my most solid experience is recently, when they catered my Houseaversary party. Erika was friendly, helpful, and professional from start to finish, and I give her many thanks! Before the catering I went for a tasting. There are so very many flavors to choose from, so the tasting really helped me (and a couple of friends) narrow it down to five flavors. Erika and her helper showed up on time, scooped amazing ice cream flavors for two hours, and really helped make my party something extra special. Mint chip used to be my favorite flavor, but after trying their chocolate and peanut butter, I have to say I prefer to mix those two together. Everything is the right amount of creamy, with solid amounts of chips and chunks were needed. I'll definitely be back!
A classic Alameda ice cream institution that has been in the neighborhood since 1941! There is always a delicious smell of waffle cones that is just enticing. They make the waffles fresh in-house and they taste absolutely delicious on their own. It reminds me of the taste of a fortune cookie. My favorite flavors are mocha chip, pralines and cream, and marble black raspberry. They have a nice selection of flavors, and there is always some type of seasonal flavors available. The peach cobbler, lemon custard, ube, pumpkin, banana coconut creme are standouts to me and are such a treat. There are a variety of options, from ice cream to sorbet, ice cream sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, chocolate dipped frozen bananas, cho-chos, sliced ice cream cakes, milkshakes, malts, and espresso based drinks. The cho-chos taste delicious and are fun to eat. Their bestselling flavor salted butter caramel, is a decadent combination of sweet and salty. Staff members and the manager Hailey are hardworking and kind.
As part of my Alameda Restaurant Week tour, I made sure to include Tucker's Ice Cream in my photo collection. The place immediately stands out as a downtown institution - it feels straight out of a movie with its classic ice cream parlor charm. They have this great back patio with a beautiful blooming jacaranda tree that creates a perfect setting to enjoy their desserts. The variety of great flavors gives everyone something to love, which is probably why it's become the family spot for Alameda locals over the years.
What a great neighbor old school ice cream parlor est. 1941. Got a junior double scoop of Marble Butterscotch and Almond choco Fudge or any of the 2 dozen flavors available daily in a cake cone. They also have frozen chocolate-covered bananas and ice cream cakes for kid's parties. I heard there's a crazy 12-scoop Kitchen Sink sundae, but I haven't tried it yet!
Tucker's is a beloved gem in Alameda and has been a long-standing tradition for our family. My husband grew up enjoying Tucker's, and now we've continued the tradition with our children. The flavor selection is incredible—there hasn’t been a single one we didn’t enjoy. Whether you're staying to savor your ice cream in the charming shop or strolling through Alameda's quaint downtown, the experience is always delightful. The vibe is welcoming and nostalgic, perfect for creating lasting memories. And don’t miss their fresh-made, chocolate-covered waffle cones—they’re worth the trip alone! Tucker’s truly embodies everything you want from a local, family-run ice cream parlor: exceptional quality, friendly service, and a touch of magic. Highly recommend!
great spot... incredible flavor... Vanilla Bean Malt... is one of my favorites
Tucker’s Ice Cream in Alameda was the perfect dessert place! They were busy but the line moved quick. I ordered a classic...banana split...which equally matched the classic vibe of this ice cream place. What nostalgia & what great experience! Nothing beats classic taste!
